VaroCMS runs exclusively on PHP5 or later and utilizes the Smarty templating system (packaged with the CMS). - Database
VaroCMS currently requires MySQL v5 or later. - Operating System
Currently VaroCMS is specifically designed to function in its full capacity on Linux servers. Support for Windows servers may be added in a future release.
- What other libraries or components are required to run VaroCMS?
- PHP MySQLi Extension
The MySQL Improved PHP extension is required for DB interface. - PHP GD Image Library
The GD library is required to generate CAPTCHA images and support member avatar uploads and video thumbnail downloads. - Cron
An editable crontab is required to carry out scheduled periodic processes. - Sphinx Search Engine
While not required, the Sphinx Search Engine is highly recommended. It supports extremely high speed indexing and full-text searches.
- Can I manage member subscriptions with VaroCMS?
Yes. VaroCMS interfaces with PayPal subscriptions and has several admin tools to make paid membership management easy. - Does VaroCMS work with Content Delivery Networks (CDNs)?
Yes. For high volume sites, VaroCMS can manage the offline uploading and distribution of rich media through a CDN, reducing your server load and increasing load time for your users. - How will licensing work for VaroCMS?
VaroCMS will be licensed per install with several levels of hosting or self-deployment. Customization of VaroCMS for your specific needs will also be available. - How much will VaroCMS cost?
